Operator and contact

CatLocal is developed and operated by Yusufcan Var.

For privacy questions, contact info@catlocal.app.

Scope

This policy describes the CatLocal website and the CatLocal iOS app separately. The website presents product and privacy information. The iOS app turns cat photographs into locally stored collectible cards.

Website hosting

CatLocal does not use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, accounts, forms, or non-essential cookies on this website. Vercel may process limited request information as necessary to deliver and secure the site.

The website stores your light or dark theme preference only in your browser. This preference is not sent to CatLocal. The website does not load remote fonts, remote images, session replay, error-tracking SDKs, advertising pixels, or analytics scripts. Vercel’s own infrastructure practices are described in its privacy notice. Vercel Privacy Notice.

The CatLocal iOS app

The shipping app has no account, backend, advertising, app analytics, or remote AI processing. It includes no third-party SDK that collects app data.

Cat detection and foreground separation use Apple Vision on the iPhone. Cat photos, cutouts, card details, notes, and typed Memory Places are not uploaded by CatLocal.

Camera and photo library

Camera access is used when you choose to photograph a cat. Photo-library access is used when you choose an existing image. CatLocal processes only the photo you capture or select for the card flow.

Local storage and image metadata

Card metadata is stored locally with SwiftData. Sanitized originals, transparent cutouts, and thumbnails are stored in CatLocal’s Application Support directory.

Before local storage, CatLocal redraws and re-encodes the selected image without copying source EXIF, GPS, camera/device, or orientation metadata.

CatLocal marks its owned image directory as excluded from device backups. This does not claim that every item of local app data is excluded from all backups.

Location and Catlas

CatLocal does not request GPS access or save coordinates. Memory Places are labels you type yourself. Catlas groups cards by those private labels and does not create a public map.

Deletion

Deleting a cat in CatLocal removes its local record and owned original, cutout, and thumbnail files. Delete All Cats removes the locally saved collection and CatLocal-owned image storage.

Policy updates

Material changes will be published on this page with an updated effective date before the revised policy is used for an App Store submission.
